WeWebU OpenECM-Framework is a universal basis for developing web-based applications for Enterprise Information Management (EIM) with easy to use front ends.
Applications for Enterprise Information Management (EIM) combine Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Business Process Management (BPM), Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) and Business Intelligence (BI). Thus, they provide users with all necessary enterprise information exactly when and where they need it; e.g. content from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems in BPM applications or documents from an ECM system in a customer profile of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
The flexible Java libraries enable even relatively inexperienced programmers to create complex and scalable EIM applications within a short period of time. Minimum effort, but maximum benefit: Applications created with WeWebU OpenECM-Framework accelerate EIM projects and reduce costs. Furthermore, they are future-proof because of their strict separation from the underlying back ends. That is why they are platform-independent – unlike custom-developed applications based on the proprietary APIs of the back end systems. Thus, they run on e.g. several ECM systems without laborious porting. This protects your investments in application development even when upgrading or enhancing the back ends at a later point in time. Adapters for several IBM ECM and BPM systems and open standards like CMIS and JCR are currently available (see right column). Data bases can easily be integrated via the open standards Spring and Hibernate.
Because of their unified look & feel, OpenECM applications merge the visual boundaries of all these “data stores“. For example, users search across several ECM repositories without noticing it and without having to switch between several applications. This allows a comprehensive Enterprise Information Management even where different back ends are used. When plans of consolidating the (heterogeneous) system landscape or changing to new back ends arise, WeWebU OpenECM-Framework allows a smooth migration taking away the fear of a critical Big Bang date.
WeWebU OpenECM-Framework is a standard product. In addition to end customers, it also explicitly addresses system integrators who want to develop their own platform-independent, vertical or horizontal EIM solutions.
You can use WeWebU OpenECM-Framework with a single ECM system as well as in a system-spanning manner.
